| Mata Nui. Mata Nui was sent from paradise to care for the inhabitants if the island, the Tohunga. The Tohunga worshiped Mata Nui, and named their island after him. He brought joy and light to the island. | Makuta. Makuta, Mata Nui's spirit brother, followed Mata Nui from paradise, and was jealous that the Tohunga worshiped Mata Nui. And he spread darkness and hate to the island. The Tohunga still worshiped Mata Nui, and rebeled against Makuta. Some say that Makuta has 3 heads; others say he can have many forms. Legend has it that 6 beings, the Toa, will be sent from the sky to destroy Makuta and his evil forces. |
